    Brendan Long has over 20 years of experience valuing oil & gas projects globally.

    He has worked for many of the most well-known financial organisations supporting the oil & gas sector, including Scotia Capital, BNP Paribas and Bank of Scotland.

    He holds an MSc in Finance from the London School of Economics, a Certificate in Petroleum Reservoir Evaluation from the Harold Vance Department of Petroleum Engineering of Texas A&M University, a Master’s from Sciences-Po, Paris, and he is a Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder.

    He is the author of "Fire: The Story of Humanity and the Story of Our Earth as Written by Flames" and "Energy Shocks: The Shocking Realities of Energy, Carbon Dioxide, and the Failure of the Green Energy Transition."

  • Matthew Clarke

    Chairman

    Matthew Clarke practised as an international finance lawyer at Linklaters from 1988-1998 working in London, New York and Hong Kong.

    From 1996-2001 he was a director at the merchant bank Robert Fleming & Co. Limited, where he carried out numerous natural resource transactions in emerging markets.

  • Richard McGlashan

    Corporate Broking Partner

    Richard has significant bulge bracket experience, having spent the best part of a decade at UBS as an Executive Director of Equity Sales and Sales Trading.

    Richard was a Director of Pan European Equity Sales at RBS Markets & International Banking, a Divisional Director of Pan European Equity Sales Trading at Macquarie Group and worked with Jerry Keen at Shore Capital on the £400m and $425m placings for Sirius Minerals.

  • Zac Philips

    Oil & Gas Research

    Zac Phillips has over 25 years of experience in oil & gas and finance, working for companies such as BP, Chevron, DB Petroleum, Merrill Lynch and ING Barings, where he undertook finance or finance-related roles.

    His extensive oil & gas financial and technical experience has meant that he is a leading expert in the valuation of E&P assets at all stages of the E&P cycle, from exploration, appraisal and development, through to producing and late-stage development/redevelopment, as well as decommissioning.

    Jerry Keen established OAK Securities with Matthew and Henry in January 2024 to raise capital and promote leading companies in the natural resources sector.

    Jerry has a successful track record for raising capital for clients and building up the natural resources businesses for other firms. He has worked for Shore Capital, Deutsche Numis and UBS in London, New York and Hong Kong and has a Master’s in Finance from London Business School.

  • Tim Dainton

    Tim started his career in fund management with Aetna in 1987, initially specialising in Financials and Real Estate before moving on to Special Situations and Smaller Companies. He went on to work for Natwest Investment Management and Gartmore before moving into Equity Sales at Peel Hunt in 2003.

    Tim has led numerous complex transactions in challenging market conditions across diverse industrial sectors. As well as experience in equity sales Tim has achieved success in equity research and corporate broking roles with Credit Suisse, RBC, Arden Partners and Zeus Capital. Tim joined Oak Securities in February 2025.

  • Dr. Ryan D. Long

    Mining Research

    Ryan Long has over 15 years of experience in the mining and exploration sector. He has a strong technical background in geology, having worked on various stage projects with leading mining companies such as Barrick Gold, Anglo American, and Xstrata. He also has extensive knowledge and expertise in equity research analysis, having previously held roles with Edison Group and Northland Capital Partners.

    He has published multiple scientific papers in international journals, holds a PhD in Economic Geology, and is a fellow of the Geological Society of London. He is also the founder of Junior Mining Insights, a mining and exploration-focused newsletter.

  • Henry Clarke

    Corporate Broking Chairman

    Henry Clarke began his career at Kitcat and Aitken in 1982, prior to running the sales desk for Bank Sarasin in London for eight years. He later founded the highly successful distressed debt unit at Collins Stewart.

    In 1996, Henry launched his own venture and private equity business, Trafalgar 1805 Ltd., investors in successful mining, engineering, software, manufacturing, biotech, med-tech, and oil & gas businesses, and served on the boards of many among them. In 2011, he co-founded Stone Drum Partners and managed its Resources Early Stage Opportunities Company.

  • Dillon Anadkat

    Dillon Anadkat joined the Oak Securities team as an Analyst in 2024. Prior to that, he worked in investment management in New York.

    Dillon has previously worked in both private and commercial banking. Through his experiences, he has developed a strong understanding of financial operations and client services. Dillon graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor's degree in 2021.

  • Maria de Freitas

    Corporate Finance & Compliance

    While pursuing her legal career, Maria de Freitas specialised in public interest law. She has worked for both the European Court of Human Rights and The Council of Europe in Strasbourg, France. Upon returning to the UK, Maria worked for Sage Pay and the Royal Mail Group, where she added financial and office administration to her portfolio of skills and knowledge.

    She graduated in 2002 from Spiru Haret University in Bucharest with a BSc 2:1 in LLB Law. Maria continued her studies in the UK, graduating from the University of the West of England in 2011, earning a BSc (Hons) 2:1 in LLB Law.

  • Calvin Man

    Head of Advisory

    Calvin Man is a highly experienced corporate adviser with over 20 years of experience in M&A advisory and corporate and investment banking.

    Previously, Calvin worked at HSBC, where he was Head of Multinationals Corporate Banking and a member of the Executive Committee for HSBC China. Prior to this, Calvin was a senior member of HSBC’s Global M&A Advisory business based in London. He has also worked at Rothschild Group and on secondment to the Strategy team of a UK-listed Industrials group.

    Calvin started his professional life as an Officer in the British Army. He is a governor of a boarding school in Surrey and a trustee of Combat Stress.

  • Peter Hitchens Bsc Eng (Hons.)

    Peter has in excess of 35 years' experience in oil & gas equity research with a bias towards the Exploration & Production companies. Having trained as a chemical engineer, Peter was lured by the glamour of the city in 1986. He has worked for many forms including Lehman Brother, Williams de Broe, Panmure Gordon and HSBC. He has been rate on many occasions by Extel and Starmine. Peter has witnessed many cycles in oil prices and investors sentiment through his long career.

    Although his main focus has been equity research, he has also worked with corporate finance and been the broker for many companies such as Enterprise Oil, Faroe Petroleum and Broders & Southern.

  • Damion Carruel

    Damion has enjoyed a 30-year career in financial markets in the City of London.

    Starting in stockbroking, he then spent a decade trading financial futures on LIFFE on behalf of NatWest Bank, Merrill Lynch and Deutsche Bank before moving back to the stock market and trading U.K equities as a broker and market maker for companies including Savoy Investment Management, Evolution Securities (now part of Investec) and Liberum.

    Switching from trading to a more corporate role in 2014, Damion has raised capital for companies intending to IPO on the London Stock Exchange, including Levrett Plc, Oxford Cannabinoid Technologies PLC and Netherlands-based industrial hemp producer HempFlax International, where he also previously served as a non-executive director.

    Mungo Sheehan joined the Oak Securities team as a Corporate Broker in November 2024. Prior to that, he has had experiences at Shore Capital and Stifel.

    Mungo has previously worked in commercial real estate. Through his experiences, he has developed a strong understanding of business operations and client services. Mungo graduated from Oxford Brookes University with a Bachelor's degree in Business Management and Sport 2022. Furthermore, Mungo's hobbies include being a scratch golfer and a ski instructor.

    Nick Price has 30+ years of experience in financial markets, initially as a proprietary bond trader at SGST before moving into fund management. Nick has held roles at several hedge funds and, for the best part of two decades, was CIO at an offshore equity opportunities fund.

    As corporate advisor, Nick was the lead on the LSE main board listing for Ferro-Alloy Resources. Nick has an MBA from Ashridge/City University.

  • Henry Poole

    Corporate Finance

    Henry Poole has experience across corporate finance, equity fundraising and investor engagement in the energy, technology and resources sectors.

    He began his career in EY’s M&A and Transaction Diligence team, where he worked on major transactions including the BlueBet IPO and Charter Hall’s $1.7 billion acquisition of ALE Property Group, developing strong commercial and financial analysis skills.

    Henry later joined Arthur Phillip Pty Ltd in Sydney, advising growth companies on capital raising, valuation and market positioning. He has worked closely with management teams and institutional investors across Australia and the UK, supporting equity fundraising and investor engagement initiatives. He has presented as a keynote speaker at industry conferences in London and Sydney.
